Surdus
Surdus is a town in the middle of the The Scorching Barrens. This town is exceptionally unique and often avoided by travellers. Every member of this town is required to keep quiet due to the Giant Sandworm that lurk around them, trapping them in silence. Due to the harsh desert, many choose to remain in their quiet town rather than leave because they don't want to die. The are self sufficient due to a cavern nearby the town that houses a rare waterspring in the cave in the desert. They connected a well to the spring and use it to drink. They eat from a rare plant often referred to as the "Waterless root" (Waterless Root ) That grows a bitter carrot type vegetable, that is edible and can be made into a variety of different foods. When mixed with water it gains some flavor and grows when applied to heat; almost like bread. They also have some domesticated, whom feed on bugs in the sand. They don't grow much, but after they produce some offspring, they are killed for milk. Skag milk is also taken from females. It doesn't taste good but its good for your bones...maybe?
