Cybernetics in the Arcane-tech age

Cybernetic pricing

Cybernetics are a new technology in the Arcane-tech age, their use, however, has been ever-expanding. Getting a cybernetic implant, replacement or upgrade is costly. Cybernetic studios also reduce the cost of upgrades if the client has the previous up upgrade, the reduction in cost is equal to the previous upgrade cost.   Cybernetic enhancement Studios are hard to come by and usually only sell to pre-approved clients. However, much like the weapons trade, there exists a substantial black market for cybernetics.

Selling limbs

Some of this cost can be reduced if the client's organic body part is functional, the Cybernetic enhancement studio will reduce the cost by 25% if they can sell the organic limb on after the surgery.   Similarly, you can sell your limbs for 25% the cost of their equivalent cybernetic replacement.

Cybernetic levels

The use of cybernetics is monitored and controlled by regulations, meaning that certain individuals, groups and organisations are limited in the cybernetics they can acquire legally. A ranking system is in place for cybernetics; level 1 (standard), level 2 (professional) & level 3 (military).

Cybernetic limitations

The number of cybernetics a person can have is limited by their body. Upgrades such as the mounted firearm(s) take up the entirety of an organic arm, meaning no additional upgrades can be installed. However, creatures with cybernetically replaced limps can have two upgrades installed into a single limb.

Hacking & dispelling cybernetics enhancements

Cybernetics are also vulnerable to hacking or magical effects. If a cybernetic upgrade is affected by magic, such as a dispel magic spell, then it ceases to function correctly, giving none of its stated benefits to the user until the beginning of the casters next turn.   If a cybernetic is affected by hacking, the hacker choose how the hack effects the cybernetic. The DM determines if the creature must make a saving throw to resist the effects, the DC for this saving throw is the hackers Hacking Save DC.
