The Verpras Glade
The Verpras Glade was an ancient wood of eastern Rendeh and a place of many dark and mysterious myths and legends. It is a popular opinion that the creatives of Greenwitch cultivated these rumors in order to deepen their separation from the rest of greater Surrexian society, but the Verpras Glade truly was a dangerous place where the minuscule number of forest guardians dwelt.
Shrouded by kilometers of darkly blue and green canopy, thousands of living creatures scurried and nested, but a corruption began to take root within the soil and the trees. This corruption seemed to explode outward after the destruction of Greenwitch at the end of the Third Age, and since then many have reported sightings of malevolent humanoids with swollen, arachnid features that hunt the good things of the forest.
Deep beneath the Verpras is a network of tunnels that has long since connected the ruins of the Verpras Glade to more beneath the surface. A community of deepdwellers, namely ratfolk, goblins, gnolls, and deep gnomes live in a deep cavern in the upperdark called the Greenwastes.
