‘Rusty Clockworks’ - Presumed Pseudonym
R & D affiliated administrator of some sort Rusty Clockworks, the Copper Spectacles
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Middling in height and slender, Rusty is perhaps the most enigmatic of the major leaders of the Independent Preternatural Legion. Eccentric and sharp in more than one way, the Copper Spectacles are infamous for being “a firecracker on amphetamines”, as described by █████████, a rabbit from the Legion and former subordinate of Rusty. They are always seen carrying a pole-arm of sorts, and coupled with their unclear supernatural heritage, the Ever-Running Clockworks is quite a mysterious and dangerous individual.
Body Features
Clockworks does not cut an imposing figure; in actuality, they appear very nonthreatening and ‘homely’, though this is somewhat undercut by their mode of dress, which usually includes many sharp cuts and angles as well as plenty of metal. They have averagely proportioned legs, a slightly short torso, and long arms. This coupled with their large hands and feet give a sense that they have yet to grow into their body, much like a teenager, but Rusty is confirmed to be at least 25 years of age thanks to video evidence of their presence at the ████████ Summit, the last Summit attended by the IPL. During the Summit, they did not yet have the title ‘the Copper Spectacles’.
Identifying Characteristics
Rusty has a moderate to high supernatural heritage: they have displayed, at different times, the following features that indicate thusly:
- A right hoofed foot, cloven, possibly that of a deer
- Unidentified mammal’s ears, all times, possibly those of a deer or antelope
- A furred tail, medium length, possibly that of a puma
- Sharp claw-like nails or claws outright on both hands
- Wings, draconian or bat-like (disputed)
Specialized Equipment
Clockworks has always been seen carrying a large pole-arm when in the field, and, according to rabbits, even within IPL facilities. It has a head that resembles a hybrid of a halberd and a fauchard, with the ax-like part of a halberd facing away from the edge of a fauchard. The whole of the weapon is made from metal, including the handle, minus a small glass inlay about where its center of gravity is. This weapon is supposedly named, but has such a long and complicated name that Rusty never says its whole name except in private ‘re-charging’ rituals. Below is a list of shortened versions of its name that have been heard and the surrounding details:
- “O Birds-Bane, o caller of energy, strike them down!” - called out during a ranged battle, caused some form of energy to elongate the blade of the fauchard part
- “Mine Echo-Song, mine Birds-Bane, mine Lightning-Rod, help me fell mine enemies!” - called out during a mixed ranged-melee battle, caused the head to glow with heat and energy
- “Channel it, Lightning-Rod-Conductor!” - called out during a battle in which Ira Talon Anchor was participating, in conjunction with the latter calling out an unknown phrase, caused all the metal in an approximate 7 feet circle to become electrically charged, shocking several combatants
- “Lead me true, Divining-Energy-Reader.” - spoken during a blackout during a joint mission between the Chatter & Melody Society and the IPL in a Shooting Star Division facility, caused the light bulbs that lead to the other members of the mission to illuminate
