ShadowCasters

Little is known of the ShadowCasters as there are very few records of their history. What is known is that a Meentha O'vitz (2024 - 2169, 1A) had her home ransacked, her husband slain, and her two children missing. She went from village to village, speaking with anyone who would give her the time, to ask about her missing children.  What she discovered was that children were missing across the land.  She began teaming up with other magick users to find her children, however they were never found. Her hope erodes over the years as the ranks of the ShadowCasters grew. It was eventually discovered that an evil cult they had destroyed a few years earlier had kidnapped and raised her two children. She had killed them by her own doing (with the ShadowCasters). Upon hearing that this information was indeed accurate and true, she immediately laid down in her bed and died that day. The few surviving records show that the following two millennia was filled with a golden age of heroics and good deeds done by this mysteriously close-knit group.   King Vordal of Valyn (1789 - 1833, 4A) was the one responsible for The Great Shadow Cleanse (1814 - 1827, 4A) which saw the purge of most ShadowCasters from the lands of Aÿshra. Since that time, there have been the occasional sighting of a supposed ShadowCaster, though little to no evidence has ever been found to substantiate these claims. Over the last few centuries, sightings of ShadowCasters have become far and few between, most folks not even sure if they ever really existed in the first place.   In the last few years however, rumors have begun making the rounds again about one specific ShadowCaster with a head of shock white hair. Apparently he has shown up out of nowhere, assisted those in need before disappearing just as quickly. This author holds the personal opinion that these are merely rumors of hope coming from the common rabble in these times of need.
