Jekovaan

Jekovaans are an extremely close-knit people who are wary of all outsiders and as such rarely allow any form of access to their communities. As they tend to scorn any form of outside influence, their culture, second only to the Diniga’yha, has been practically unchanged for thousands of years. As such, much of their language and customs are still mysteries, even to one as learned as I, even with the amount of access and time I was (eventually) granted amongst them, they are still very much an enigma. I do however know that they strictly forbid any form of breeding with one of another race as they consider their race to be quite literally, as pure as the snow they live in. They are considered to be quite racist overall as they also see any other race aside from their own as inferior in every way and as such, your average Jekovaan seeks to impose their views on others in a very autocratic or inflexible way.

They have suffered from the same hackneyed stereotypes and bigotry for centuries and to this day are still often considered inherently evil, malicious and unlucky, none of which is any more true than for any other race. The fact that every newborn Jekovaan is born with a varying shade of crimson to their iris’s also doesn’t help. Unfortunately, due to the rariety of any Jekovaans coming down from their mountains, these stigmas and stereotypes continue to persist.

This self-isolation has led over millennia to their current appearance which is famed for their signature look: the blanched hair and alabaster skin that helps them blend into their surroundings when need be and their intense, overly large blue-grey eyes. They can see the smallest detail at a thousand yards in a blizzard, yet often have difficulty processing all the detail found in a densely wooded area on the rare occasion they ever find themselves down and far away from the mountains. It goes without saying that Jekovaans can stand extreme cold but can usually handle warmer climates to some extent should they ever find themselves in it, though in those situations it’s not uncommon to see them with a wineskin full of ice held to their foreheads or strapped against their stomach/lower back to help them keep their temperature down.
Laws for the Jekovaans are incredibly strict, always set in place by their King or Mächtaben in their native tongue of Jekov. Their government is an autocracy so basically anything their Mächtaben says, goes. Most crimes are punishable by severe punishment; excommunication, banishment and even a torturous, public death.

A day in the life of your average Jekovaan begins with(((…………………….?)))
Women are practically never given jobs of importance or high power other than in the job of continuing the lineage of their partners family as well as the domestic chores
