Starleaf [insert Dulmagi name]
The Starleaf is a beautiful blue flower (with tell-tale bluish leaves) that crop up in clusters and make their place there. They have seemingly no real natural habitat, instead being found in climates of all types. Any attempts to grow them in a pot result in failure, as does trying to transplant them to a piece of ground that they did not choose. Before the New Era, they were vastly desired by all for either their beauty or their magical abilities. In the New Era, they are ignored by all for fear of being seen as a magic-user or accomplice.
Basic Information
Anatomy
They grow in clusters, with the roots spreading underground to crop up more stems. The stems are a bluish-green, but it's the leaves that are really stunningly blue. They have more blue than green in them, and they have a pointed tip with round edges. The flower itself has anywhere from half a dozen to a dozen blue petals, similar to the shape of the leaves, and the center of the flower is where the pollen resides. Under a clear night sky, the leaves seem to sparkle.
Genetics and Reproduction
It self-pollinates and propagates from the roots, making it easy to continue growing.
Additional Information
Uses, Products & Exploitation
Before the New Era, it was mostly used by Magi in a variety of fields. Seers were the ones that most desired the Starleaves, since they were apparently fantastic for gifting visions of the far future, but Seers were oftentimes ignored in their desires because many Magi believed them to simply be non-magical people wanting to be magical. Brewers found the leaves to be good for helping people sleep; Healers found the leaves to be good anesthesia.
Conservation Status
It was under protection before the New Era, but in the New Era it has no protections but is not at risk of extinction, either.
Average Length
Up to 3 feet, more often around 2.
