Belters

The term "Belter" is slang for a person who was born in or has lived somewhere within the asteroid belt. Belters who were born within the belt must periodically be given doses of Spaceborn Injections in order to counter the detrimental effects of growing up in zero or low gravity (among other things such as vitamin-d deficiency). If the official UNEM serum is administered at the recommended times, individuals suffer little to no side effects. Unfortunately the UNEM brand is expensive and most Belters are unable to afford it.
