Kol Nar
I walked up the hill and the plateau stretched far and wide before me with rotting beams of wood pointing out of the ground here and there. The Kol Nar loomed ahead. The rotting walls and the roof of the Great hall overlooking the decay. Oh how I look forward to the warmth of the fire, the stories from travels. But the night is falling. I can see the outline of the barrel. Come on, come on I have to make it. I can feell the unnatural cold seeping through my bones. I'm at the barrel just dip the lamp and light it from my torch. The darkness disapeared. Nothing can stand the holy light. Oh my brothers wont believe this one.
Purpose / Function
The Kol Nar houses ranger guilds in winter months. They distribute holy oil which is a usufull tool for banishing ghosts. The fort is in ruins except for the Great Hall where rangers eat and sleep. Four outposts are established to keep track of orc bands passing through in the night.
Alterations
Orcish fort on a small plateau was conquered as one of the first forts in the war of monsters. Since then Rangers take refuge here every winter and try to mend the roof and take care of the outposts, but the craftsmenship is insufficiant so the Great hall now looks like a hovel with patched roof and most of it being inhabitable. Surrounding wooden walls are rotted and everyone just waits for them to fall down.
Architecture
Apart from rotting wooden structures the Great hall is the only stone-walled structure. To signify their presence the guilds of rangers hang their banners from a crumbling statue of some humanoid siting before the entrance. The features are lost to time and watter wear however so there's no way to tell what happens here.
