Betrayal of Éa

In the begining the Énai, god of this world, created all living things to live near the ocean waves. Long time after creating all manner of animals he conjured the idea of his own people. His own demigods capable of creation themselves. So he created the first people and gifted them with his former creations. These people loved water and often was found swiming happily. They traveled far inland along ancient rivers and creeks. They became famous seafarers and conquerers of lands far away from their birthplace. Given the chance they always settled near water.. Énai rested then in the Zampras river delta. For days he watched his people and their craftsmanship. They proved very skilfull and curious as he hoped they would. In their genius the people found brutality and violence. They traveled miles to kill other people of their kin, Énai watched this with sorrow in his heart. He hoped the gift of crafts would be put to use in other ways than creating new ways to kill ones brothers. He noted despite the chaos among his people they found resilience and comfort in the arms of family and neighbours. Parents and other family members were giving wisdom and protection to the children of the group. He watched the rise of small communities in the harsh brutality of the surrounding world and he felt proud. The wisdom was limited though and Énai found himself wanting to share his wisdom with the people. After a long thought he created a new goddess from clay of the shore to his likeness and named her Éa for she came from the Earth. She became instantly entranced by the small creatures. She asked her creator why he made his people so violent. He said onto her that they are clever creatures and very crafty, but morality has to be found so he created her. She observed the people with great pleasure and found herself wlking among them in a guise of hairless woman spreading teachings of her creator. When all was done Éa retired herself to the first forrest which gave people wood for their shelters. She was delighted with trees and grass and liked to walk there very much. But people were relentless in their building and crafts requiring wood for fire. She started to resent them for it and from that resentment she conjured the first of elves. Without the knowledge and to great anger of her creator. She put them in charge of the forrest, to guard it, and so they did. Elves and men were dying so the selfish goddess could live peacefull life in the heart of the wood. That's where the long animosities began. People were desperate. They called to Énai and wouldn't let him rest so he left the bed of Zampra river and left to sleep in the deep oceans. His breathing became ocean wind and his calm demeanor the waves of the sea. He set people to deal with elves themselves and so they did. They won the battles and burned great fires where the first forrest stood. The cunning goddess however conjured another races to spite the humans. Those were the orcs and goblins from the deep. She set them loose on the first people and almost won. Such was her wrath of elimination of her firstborns. In her malice she created the new elves from the bodies of men and the blood of orcs. They are the curse that lays on mankind to this day so we pray to the creator for giant waves to wash her filth from the surface.
