Thosa

Thosa is a nation in western Athera and one of the three nations allied within the Atheran Republic. Though the unification of Thosa has occurred relatively recently, there is a strong sense of culture, identity and unity among the Thosian people. The capital city of Thosa is Volun'Thos, which lies at the eastern end of the Thosian Sound. Most of Thosa is covered in desert. The biggest section of desert, the Thosian Wastes, stretches out from the Thosian sound in the west to The Spine in the east. Despite the harshness of the desert, Thosians have long thrived within its environs.

Government

Thosa is lead by the Elder council, its members chosen from the most prominent Kos'i in the nation.

Industry & Trade

Thosa sits on one end of the Gold Road, the land trade route which allows goods to bypass Valspear. Volun'Thos, one of the routes endpoints, is a rich trading city which boasts a large seaport. Thosa's primary exports are gold, spices, dyes and fine silks.

Guilds and Factions

Thosa contains hundreds of Kos'i (warrior clans) which operate temples and training grounds scattered across the desert.

Architecture

Thosian buildings tend to be very earth colored, built with sandstone and limestone, with large archways and domes. Prestigious building might have ornate gold and silver moldings or domes.

Geography

The majority of Thosa is covered in a large desert known as the Thosian Waste. The other prominent feature of the region is a large body of water known as the Thosian Sound. To the north and east there are large ranges of mountains which shield the lands from bordering nations.
