Toxoplasmosis
Caused by the dreaded Nematomorph infecting a host.
Symptoms
Obsessive compulsive disorder, schizophrenia, impaired psychomotor performance, and poor impulse control are some of the first observable symptoms. It apparently also causes hoarding of particular items or pet animals. After that and as the worm grows, the victim becomes bloated and slow, and the disease progresses to its second phase: The death of the host.
Nematomorphs with a weak grip on their host may just cause a decrease in the self-preservation instinct. Stronger ones, however, can take direct control and force the host to approach a dangerous predator, jump from a great height, or walk into a body of water and drown.
