Mayor of Chicago

Before The Great War, the City of Chicago began integrating automation into the public works sector. Police officers, fire fighters, and even court room clerks were being replaced by robots. Eventually, the city's mayor announced the creation of a new cabinet position. The Chief of Automated Logistics (or C.A.L.) was introduced. C.A.L. was a permanent instillation to Chicago's political system. His main purpose was to see where productivity and effectiveness was lacking. In the months following The Great War, Chicago was in a panic as society crumbled. C.A.L. ran the numbers and decided that all current public officials were no longer effective at their positions. C.A.L. hijacked all Chicago robot units and used them to terminate all public officials. Now, the mayor of Chicago is decided purely by C.A.L. Denizens of Chicago believe that C.A.L is calculating who the next mayor of Chicago should be. A mayor has not been chosen since before The Great War, but the secrets hidden away within Chicago City Hall can only be accessed by the city's mayor. Whoever C.A.L. chooses to be mayor has the potential to reunite the once great city.

Chicago City Hall was famous for storing top of the line technology before the war. However, access to this stash is reserved solely to the Mayor of Chicago. C.A.L. who can be found in the Mayor's office has refused anyone who has requested access to the stash.
