Cicaffalo (suh-kay-fuh-low)

When the bombs fell, the high levels of radiation caused mutation in organic life. Mutations took many forms, and in Chicago, a new species was born. The Cicaffalo is a buffalo sized cicada. Due its large, the cicaffalo is no longer able to fly, however, it is gifted with immense strength. A single Cicaffalo can easily pull a pre-war bus across the wasteland. A cicaffalo ranch has been established in the ruins of the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. Cicaffalo's have been used by ranches for: clearing ruins, act as security, and when they pass, meat from a single cicaffalo can feed a family for a solid month.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Cicaffalo are the mutated descendants of the common cicada. Thus, they are similar in appearance and anatomy. However, they are the size of the pre-war buffalo. Due to their massive size, they longer have the ability to fly. This is balanced with other abilities. The Cicaffalo is muscular and with a sturdy exoskeleton. A single Cicaffalo can be used to move old cars. The Cicaffalo's exoskeleton is extremely durable and can be shield them from most ballistic ammunition.
