A Brief History of Kisqall and its Wars

As the Kisqallians seeked to espand their territories, they were met in the east by the Takamov Empire, the successor to the older empire that inhabited much of the western end of the continent. The Kisqallians succeeded in halting the expansion of the empire, most notably at a military base in the eastern marches. This victory led to the base being made a city and renamed as Fort Takahalt. Later, in a separate war, Kisqall waged war upon Takamov again, but were defeated by an alliance between the Takamov Empire and Nahkier, who wanted more influence over the Absu River and territories south of Kisqall, rushing north while the Takamars laid seige to the coastline with their navy. The defeat of this war led to the Kisqallians amending conscription into their constitution as they rebuilt. The Kisqallians displayed their new military prowess during the siege of Otkalim during the War of the Great Coalition. during the inter-arms period, the instability of Kisqall caused a slight neglect by their rivals and by the time the Treason Corps was founded, Kisqall had allied with the Eowalai Confederacy and Takamov had to now watch for danger beyond the buffer states. This made a drift between the Republic of Nahkier and Takamov and as Kisqall once again sought influence over the Absu River, Nahkier became increasingly alarmed as Takamov neglected them. Nahkier was so invested into the river that they declared war on Kisqall without consulting their ally. The Kisqallian victory was swift, as they took key ports and used fighter planes to bomb strategically important areas. Nahkier capitulated until ten years later, when they declared war upon Kisqall again in vengeance. Their military was split into an Army Group West and Army Group East. Army group West was bogged down in the Macayuk Bayou and was attacked by the west coast. Army group East steamrolled through the southern fields and the Hollow Hills and came within the borders of the central province, but the war turned to the Kisallian's favor at the Battle of the Green Tides, where Kisqallian forces used commonplace chemical weapons and combined them with flamethrowers, or firespitters, to scatter enemy forces. Both Army Groups were eventually driven back as Kisqall organized to invade their enemy. Nahkier secretly invested into their own chemical weapon known as "Project Miasma." This was discovered by a Nahkieri soldier named Aamos Bard, who believed that this was too cruel a weapon to unleash on any country. So he fought his team in order to stop the shipment of Miasma, but the cargo fell into the river, where it proceeded to infect both countries. Severly damaged, both countries came together to write and sign the Absu Accord; insuring dual soveriengty over the Absu River and banning the use of chemical weapons. An agreement that several other countries agreed to uphold. Neglecting the Absu Wars was likely one of Takamov's biggest mistakes, as now they had to seek better military alliances since Nahkier signed a non-aggression pact with its northern neighbor.   Seven years later, an occurence of dread.
