Mire's Edge

The Town

Surrounded by humid swamp and thick foliage, the settlement of Mire’s Edge was founded several decades ago by an enterprising lord with an eye for commodities – in this case, sugar cane. Earning him a great deal of financial security, Mire’s Edge only grew to real prominence in the lord’s retirement years, when he and his household became permanent residents, a prosperous town steadily growing around them.

History With The Golden Lions

As the town grew, it began facing problems with the more active denisens of the swamp. As the sugercane fields grew, it began encroaching on the territory of lizardfolk who dwelled within the swamp. Raids began to be conducted on the supply line connecting the town to the rest of the world, resulting in famine and loss of trade.

A Heroes Welcome

To deal with the trouble the town decided to gather their gold together in order to hire adventurers to stop the supply raids. 3 Adventurers were hired to deal with the proble. Sazarax Kiernas, a silver dragonborn monk. Who had left his monestary life in order to travel with his companion Tarith Perric. A noblewoman heralding from the outskirts of Neverwinter, who took to adventuring to find her brother. Together with them travelled Damron, an appentice wizard on the search for anchient spells. However once by the city, they befriended a elf who had recently been thrown out of the tavern. Lirchon Greenleaf talked his way into accompanying the party in order to get away from his gambling debts. To which the town lord reluctantly agreed.

The Sunken Temple

In their investigation, it was made clear that the lizardfolk where not truly the culprits behind the recent attacks. Rather the attacks was conducted from a temple deep within the swamp, that had been overrun by kobolds. Travelling through the temple the group encountered crocodiles, lizards, and scores of kobolts. Some where befriended, many were killed. The group made it to the inner sanctum, where a juvenile black dragon resided. However this dragon while large in stature did not have the same in courage, as the sheepish dragon had been manipulated by the more devious of its leadership. With the elimination of the Kobold Sorcerer Wruenele, the dragon promised that the raids would cease, in return for his life.

The Aftermath

With the promise of the dragon, the group made their way back to the town, where they were paid handsomely for their time. The group, after a rowdy night at the inn to celebrate, decided to go their seperate ways. Tarith and Sazarax continuing their search for her brother, planning to make good use of the money they earned to found their efforts. Lirchon on the other hand decided to travel, having spent his hospitality in mires edge, he made his way eventually to The city of Waterdeep in order to search for an old enemy.
