The Soul Suppressor Potion

The Soul Suppressor is one of the simplest but also powerful potions that have ever been created. It has a simple property, the property to disable the connection of a creature from its soul, making it unable to feel or use the flow of magic. It stops mages from being able to use magic, but stops people also from being able to feel magic at all, or even perceive it, rendering all who drink it for all purposes as unmagical.

Utility

The potion is very powerful because it is able to disconnect a person from their soul, which essentially means they are completely unable to use, feel, or sense magic. This is especially scary for mages, as it stops them from being able to cast any spells, and even for normal people its very uncomfortable, as it feels very wrong to no longer have a connection to the flow. If the mix is made too strong, then it can last for a longer time, which has the side effects of a person feeling very sick as in fever, nausea, and other physical ailments. It can luckily never lead to death, or at least there have been no recorded cases of it.
It was created for the purpose of controlling the flow of magic, especially in law enforcement, as it was incredibly difficult to keep control of anyone that had even small amounts of magic aptitude. However, it is becoming common for criminals to use it when they need to hide from guards or law enforcement, or to sneak in somewhere, as it makes them invisible to a person's magic perception, since for all intents and purposes, they have none.

Access & Availability

As both herbs are relatively common, its easy to create if you know how to do it and know how to do it correctly as well, such as the amount of each, the time of stirring, the amount of drink such as water. Its very common especially in law enforcement, as its both common to use for captured criminals and prisoners, to ensure that they are unable to cast spells to escape or hurt the guards.

Discovery

The potion was discovered by relative coincidence, as it was created by the Purple Smoke mage herself when she was investigating the properties of herbs and their relation of magic. With two simple herbs, Red Tongue and a Crimson Blade, and combining the two into a fine powder, and then properly mixing it into a drink, it gains a property where it is able to instantly suppress one's ability to access one's soul, stopping one from using magic.
