The Golden Day

A festival to commemorate the death of the Golden Drake, it begins with religious ceremonies were people hold candles as midnight becomes the next day, a priest speaks about the achievements of their great leader to the group of people, speaking of his merits, and how he changed the world for the better, then finishing with that he wants his people and his lands to stay strong and someday unite under a ruler, a chosen one (who it is is hotly debated), after which the fruits of the Drake’s labor come forth, casks of wine and baskets of bread and trays of meat.    Variety of traditional dragonborn games played, such as “sumo” where the rules is that only your palms and the bottom of your feet can touch the ground (round based system, first to five), or variety of athletic events like running or throwing a dragon shaped stone weighing 20 kg. Finally, as dawn rises, the final event happens, the trials of the Drake, the trials which are believed to choose the one who will lead to the reunification (meant to be impossible), first trial is where one must lift a 500 kg bull on one’s back from the ground and hold for ten seconds, the second trial is where one must hold the two pillars (100 kg each) of the empire in one’s hands for 234 seconds (3.9 minutes), the third trial is where one must hold a hold a hot iron from a forge for ten seconds and not flinch, the fourth trial is where one must hit a target at 600 feet, the fifth trial is where one must be wrapped in chains and managed to break out of it, and the final trial is where one must wrestle a grand champion.    Sometimes people succeed one or two, but never more, as such it isn’t always taken super seriously by competitors, since no one expects to win. Once no more competitors are left, the priest proclaims that the people of the golden drake shall continue forward, and shouts "Long live the dragon!", where the audience joins in, and then packs up and heads out
