Magic within Drakenelm

Magic is a very natural force within the Drakenelm world, every living thing so to speak has magic within it, and flows through everything. Nothing alive does not have magic, magic is essentially what one could call "Life" or a "Soul", the thing that sustains living beings, the ultimate thing that separates living beings and corpses. Meaning that, in theory, everyone can cast spells, as spells are just a projection of internal power, which regenerates when you use it. While Magic is the popular name coined by the Purple Smoked Wizard, there are many names for it such as "Soul Force" or "Flow of Life" and other such names.   Along with this, the larger the being, the larger soul it has to sustain itself, meaning it has a larger pool to use for spells. All creatures can use it, even simple animals, for example, an animal like a boar could cast a spell on itself to make it faster. The boar however does not know how it did it, how it could better the spell, how to learn other spells, or to an extent how to control it.   Thats where a creature's intelligence, wisdom, or charisma comes in. The more of any of these things a creature is, the more effectively it can manipulate this magical energy, they all reach the same consequence of casting magic but do it through different methods and with different effects. For example, a wizard would use his intellect to learn and manipulate his energy to cast spells, while a druid would use his wisdom to attain the knowledge and use the flow of magic to create spells, and on the other end you have a bard, who is able to cast magic through sheer force of personality and will, using his mind to expel magic powers. However, the laws of magic still apply, and a soul is not limitless, you will exhaust it if you cast too many spells. Thus, there are many schools of magic, and different philosophies that follow them on how to use them but also the reasons why you should.   In theory as well, it means that it is possible to be killed by casting too many spells, but living beings automatically have restraints on the mind to stop this from happening. This of course restricts just how many spells on is able to cast, and thus there are ways to remove these restraints, at great cost of course. Along with this, due to that magic is a natural force, it also has natural consequences, such as when casting offensive elemental spells, it can cause damage to the person casting if not done properly (example being burning one's arm when casting a lightning or fire spell).   One can argue that there are four levels of a magic user in Drakenelm. One is untrained, an individual that is completely unable to access their soul's magic and to use it. Another is wild soul, where a person is able to use their soul but not in a way that is always beneficial or without dangerous consequence. Another is controller, where a person is able to control and manipulate their flow, but can't always do so under pressure or unable to experiment with it beyond what they have learnt. Finally, there is Soul Master, where a person is not only able to control a their soul to cast spells or other such things, but also able to do it under pressure, and experiment with it in unique ways to develop spells or to find a better method of casting the same one, or to even discover new spells
