Halfling Bowls

The infamous halfling bowl, a delicacy and ingenious use of bread that quickly spread throughout the whole of the empire for its usefulness. The basic idea of a halfling bowl is to create a large lump formed piece of bread, which you give a flat top. Then once its time to eat, one flips it over, cuts open the bottom and takes out nearly all of the insides, leaving only some on the walls of the bowl. Once one has done this, you then put food within it, which traditionally is a soup or a stew which the halflings made, but can be used for just about anything. The crust of the bread is then hard enough for one to use it as a bowl.
Usually, a stew or soup is the best because the liquid will begin infiltrating into the bread. On top of this, you can use the insides as sop bread for the soup. Thus, once one finishes their meal, one can then eat the bowl itself, as the previous hard crust is now softened by the stew or soup.
Due to its spread and due to it having reached many corners of the empire, different groups of people use it in different ways, and don't always have the soup or stew format. Due to this, some shatter the hard crust into pieces to have as snacks in the future either by themselves or with something on it.
