Grenile
The city of Grenile is a large and bustling one, for it is one of the first cities begun by the empire in its burgeoning days. It has constant movement of goods being traded and being transported around the city, whether to the west to the golden frontier, or to the east in land. It overlooks the great sea to the west, with the sun illuminating it beautifully every morning. It is a place of calm winds, gently blowing through the vast farms surrounding the city.
Demographics
The city is primarily of draken descent, making about 80% of the population, with 15% being that of halflings with a small amount of elven groups, it does however have a sizeable population of half drakens, about 5%, due to how long its races have intermingled with each other over the course of the empire.
Government
The running of the city goes through the court of law, where much of the city is managed and where citizens are able to go to find help or request the audience of important individuals such as ministers. This is also where many offices are situated, as those of bureaucratic jobs.
Defences
The city doesn't have the strongest defenses, its walls on reach up to about 6 meters high, with a few towers upon them, manned by archers. The soldiers patrolling the walls and cities are usually lower ranking soldiers, and as such are not the most experienced.
Industry & Trade
Previously, Grenile was primarily a city for the creation of material, especially that of food and resources required for food. But since the discover of the Golden Frontier, it has become a shining beacon for both continents, becoming a center of trade, where those of the continent can find the strange and exotic objects of this new and alien place.
Infrastructure
The city has relatively developed infrastructure. Its biggest feature is that of one of the starting places of the great trades paths, which is a very wide road that reaches all the way down to the docks, from which other roads grew out from and buildings developed. Overall, the cities paths are made of stone, with some of the denser areas being simple dirt.
Guilds and Factions
The explorer's guild has a strong influence within the city, as it is seen as a heroic occupation to pursue, and as such many hopefuls come to Grenile simply to be recruited and be sent over the ocean to the new continent. It does also have a very influential farmers guild, as they control much of the food produce by the city.
