Whatdigo

The Whatdigo is a spirit which can be found throughout The Gates. It is a manifestation of the Unanswered Questions "What am I?", "What is that thing?", "What did I come from?" or "What Happened?" and is representative of the phrase "I am not what I am."   The Spiritual Travelers first encountered the Whatdigo quite unexpectedly when it appeared before them at the end of the Howdigo. Not much is known about it besides its abilities in battle, its appearance and its desire and ability to consume all things. It syphoned the Spiritual Traveler's own strengths from them, added them to its own and eventually used the gathered energy against them through the use of a powerful beam attack originating from its left claw. Standing near the Whatdigo removed it from one's mind which seemed to cause it to physically vanish not only from their point of view but from their concerns as well.   It seemed to avoid attacking Tympi in this encounter and waited for her to be moved before using any abilities that might harm her accidentally. When the battle ended, it vanished through the same portal it came from and warned the group of adventurers about "Her true power".   “You have no idea what she is capable of… Be wary her true power, and do not let her meet the one of Shadow.”   It is unclear what this is referring to, perhaps that's the point, but, more than that, it is unclear who "she" is. Most obviously it might be Tympi as she was nearby and being rescued, but maybe it goes deeper than that. In terms of "power", Tympi received at least a portion of hers from an orb of light which called itself "Ar'en'el" in a flashback through Tympi's perspective. The "one of shadow" may involve Vsevolodrik as he is assumed to be the darkness to Ar'en'el's light, but it may also be The Usurper as he has been shown to also have some connection to this darkness. Jesters, as seen through Hysteria and the others that have been encountered, are assassins which also are involved in "shadows".   So there are lots of possibilities to consider.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Shadows billowed around asymmetrical arms and legs. One leg ended with a claw that looked like it would be more at home on a bear, though it was must larger with nails that reached out to needle-like points. The other arm ended in a different claw, this one was closer to a crab claw or a pincer from some similar animal. It too dripped shadowy ichor, and it would grow and glow as the other claw damaged you. One of its legs ended about halfway down the other in a sort of stub, while the other leg was longer and twisted around itself to form a strange sigil. It had a total of three heads, six eyes and four mouths. The head furthest to your left had only one eye, the central head had three, and the right-most had two. The mouths were evenly split, but each had different types of teeth ranging from blunt and square to massive needles, each almost the size of a rapier.
