The Gardener's Experiments

Originally contained in Hag Gardens, you can find these oddities throughout The Gates.
Rose Hearts   As pedals fall, the heart is revealed. Found in the Badlands and some gardens. You can EAT IT. Makes me feel...tough?   Form is similar to Rose Hips after the roses of the plant are pollinated, however, the fruit takes on the appearance of an anatomically correct heart. The heart begins beating as the petals start falling, and is usually harvested and used by gardeners for various spells, rituals or recipes.   The roses they develop from range in color from dark red to just about any shade of any color but green. The color of the heart is always a deep red color.   When used to cook it can be used as a protein like any other meat.
Finger Roots   Found along rivers, in gardens, and in fields. You can EAT IT! Helps with reflexes. When prepared by a skilled cook it cuts and cooks like a root vegetable (potato, carrot, onion, etc)...makes me more talented with my own fingers.   Could be turnips, potatoes, carrots, onions, any manner of root vegetable. They have the vegetables leaves and stocks above ground, but when picked look exactly like the digits of some humanoid animal.   Mostly creepy and used in rituals and certain spells, however, when prepared by a skilled enough cook they can be cut in such a way that the result is the desired vegetable rather than blood and finger meat.
Mind Cabbage   Can be used in salads or cooked in various ways...makes me feel smarter.   Usually found growing in various gardens, this cabbage can also sometimes be rarely seen in the badlands and the grasslands. They take on the appearance of a cabbage with green leaves wrapping around a central orb. Peeling back these leaves you can see the off-grey and folded flesh growing within: An intricate pattern reminiscent of a brain.   This vegetable, like many others of its ilk, are usually used in rituals, spells and creepy recipes. It can be boiled, braised, or steamed as a delicacy or eaten raw with other vegetables as a salad.
Eye Flowers   Great in TEA, potions, poultices... Helps with my own sight. Found in plains and Gardens.   In the vast grasslands, forests and parts of the badlands there are many flowers. Some of these flowers grow with Eyes in place of the Stigma, Style and Ovary at the center of the flower. This can occur with any variety of flower though is more common the larger the flower.   These eyes are mostly used in creepy rituals, spells, and in the recipes of hags, however, they can also be used in teas or potions as an aromatic component.
Ulunor's Tongue   Helps me communicate, can be cooked for sandwiches, or sauteed with cabbage and veggies! Found in the badlands, gardens, forests...   Long, tongue-like protrusions extend out of the ground, twisting up into the air. Upon closer inspection they aren’t just tongue-like, but they are tongues. Or...maybe they just look like it. Ulunor’s Tongue is usually used in creepy spells, rituals and recipes much like everything else I’ve mentioned, but they can also be cooked with normal meals and can be quite delicious in sandwiches or when paired with sauteed cabbage and vegetables.   This vegetable can be made into various dishes by a brave enough cook.
