Aasimon

The capital city of Seraphim Faction and the largest city in the South. There are very few non-human or at least non-human passing people living in Aasimon besides, of course, the Seraphim. All other non-human peoples know Aasimon as a land of death and won't go there unless there's a knife at their back or a particularly large sum of gold.

Demographics

Roughly 10% of the people there are Seraphim and the other 90% are human, or at least human passing.

Government

They are governed by a man known only as the Seraph King. He is highly mysterious, almost never seen, but supposedly a pureblooded angel, sent into the world to conduct the will of the gods. What that will is, no one is entirely sure, but it is said that any whispers of rebellion among his people are quickly and efficiently terminated.   However, the Seraph King provides for all of his subjects. Everyone who works is subjected to the same laws and punishments, but they are also given food, a place to live, medical treatment, and access to some of the world's best technology. The work is hard but no harder than it would be anywhere else in the world. As such many people aspire to live in Aasimon so there is a relatively long waiting list to get in. Everyone must be screened before they can get in. Aasimon only lets the best of the best enter these days. As such, they are currently dealing with illegal immigration.

Industry & Trade

As Aasimon is made up of humans and Seraphim, there is a divide in what thet do. Unskilled humans primarily work in the fields, while any Seraphim who cannot trace their lineage back to one of the Twelve Haloes and therefore not of nobility, act as peacekeepers. They melt the snow whenever the Frost grows too strong and they bring the rain whenever the drought shortly follows. As such, Aasimon provides over 85% of the world's food, which they trade for any resource that they lack.

Guilds and Factions

The main two factions in Aasimon are the Seraphim and the humans. The humans are further divided between those who worship the Seraphim as some sort of fallen gods and those who think that humans should be ruling, not some immortal king whose face is never seen. Most of the population simply does not care, though. The Seraphim do a well enough job governing and so long as the South remains protected from the Frost by the Seraphim's magic, they will continue to remain so.

History

No one knows exactly how or when Aasimon was founded. Many say it was created by the angels and then given to the Seraph King once they returned to the heavens. Others suggest it was founded by the Seraph King himself, many years ago. Most likely, however, Aasimon was a small human village where an angel just so happened to descend. Awed, the people made him their king and he was the one who built it up into the massive place that it to this day.

Architecture

Aasimon is a white brick city. There is almost no color in the architecture there, except for the sky blue banners which hang over the streets. There are no slums in Aasimon and no trash either. There are bathhouses and pillars, all gorgeously carved. It's a pity that no one remembers who carved them. The market places are organized and quiet. Shopping is a daily ordeal and something that is done with dignity. No screaming. At times, Aasimon seems like its a sleeping giant. Perhaps it is. The Seraph King lives high in his castle at the center of the city. He is never seen besides the glint of wings. It is said that Aasimon was built in the image of the heavens. Many people have remarked that if the heavens were that boring, then they would be happy to end up in hell.

Geography

Aasimon is located in some of the last fertile lands. It's filled with green grasses and open plains. There used to be trees there, but not anymore. They'd been cleared away many, many years ago. Rivers keep the ground wet and the Seraphim make sure that it's always full.
