The Kiyan Reach / Port Kiya

Prior to the fracturing, the Kiyan Reach – commonly known as the Port Kiya – was the bustling trade center that connected the Aasha to the rest of Camdara as well as the seat of the Aashinian King. Being the furthest south on the map that any traders wanted to venture, the Aashinians were known to be prudent hagglers and businessmen, often making large trades for the surplus of a merchants stock so that he or she didn’t have to venture the month-long journey to Caerum Ba with a wagon full of supplies.   The Kiyan Reach was named after Prince Kiya Maut, the only son of King Aasha Maut and the rightful heir to the throne of the Aashinian Empire. Thousands of men, women, horses, and countless siege engines were soon to be at his command when his father laid down rule at the age of fifty, as was the tradition. But tragedy struck when Prince Kiya fell mysteriously ill.   Historians still debate this point, and the sages of Caerum Ba are torn between two opposing viewpoints. It is either that Prince Kiya fell ill with a common illness, but in his pride, he refused to see a Cleric of the Four for healing. Or, and this is the much more widely accepted viewpoint, one of the necromancers from the now named Order of Aasha cast a foul magic on him, causing him to fall violently ill and succumb to his illness in a matter of days.   The events that proceeded his death, however, changed the foundation of Camdara forever. When King Aasha learned of the death of his son, he flew into a violent rage. He tore his robes and set his chamber ablaze, trapping countless guards, servants, and foreign dignitaries in their chambers to die. Within minutes the whole of the castle was engulfed in flame – scholars say this was due to the blazebottles and dwarven fire they had stacked underneath the castle for their war supplies – and by the morning most of the Kiyan Reach was reduced to ash.   The events that follow are chronicled in Blood Dreaming
