This article should be a quick way to let your players know the basics of what they will need to create their character and get ready for your first session.

The Fracyured Lands is a "Shard World" created by unknown Mages a long time ago. It is unknown who (or at least the record of who has been lost)  created it. It is made up of seprate lands divided by seas. Whithin are found different races who were initially given their own lands to inhabit, develope, and grow upon without infringment. Though each had their own seperate lands trade and interaction of course developed. Though as with many things as time went on the usual problems occured. Even small scale wars occured. Thus were fortified cities, with their armies made. Alliances were also made thus creating a set of balance throughout the lands. Even before the tenous balance had been achieved there had been appearences by both monsters and races of people not originally put here when the shard was created. It was descovered that there were portals from other Shards and Planes. None were found to be permenate. none of the intelligent races that came through could give anymore than the basics of how they got here. Most of those intelligent races that came through were accepted and found a place within the lands. The Beasts that came through were initally delt with by the inhabinates of those lands the appeared in. At least as much as can be delt with. Some escaped inital detection and a few casas proliferated. It was determined that there was a need to investigate and deal with the problem shard wide. Thus through the cooperative effort of the alliances a Guild of Adventures was established.
