Tahage Dynasty Empire

The Tahage Dynasty Empire, as of 624 ASC, is the largest nation in the world spanning the continents of both Otusi and Obia. While traditionally quite a expantionist country, ever since the end of The Great War marked by Rainor’s’ s Proclamation, the new emperor His Imperial Majesty Malik Tahage has adoped a foreign policy of peace and diplomacy in an attempt to try and correct some of the atrocities commited by his empire and his father former emperor Albus Tahage in the past.   In the almost 10 years since the end of the war and 8 years since His Imperial Majesty Malik Tahage ascended to the throne, the Tahage Empire has seen a steady economic decline and rise of crime, banditry and piracy. This was a direct result of very sudden demilitrisation of the Tahage Empire army and navy, both the largest fighting force in the world, leaving tens of thousands without any kind of income. For many, the Tahage armed forces was a way of life which brought glory and prosperity from the nations it raided. The empire has since strugged to find something to fill that role.   In recent years, a growing faction in the Empires nobility, using some of the poverty as a political tool, has been pressuing the emperor to continue its old way of expansion and conquest in order to bring prosperity back to the empire. The Emperor on the other hand has made it clear that he does not want this out of caution of Rainor’s’ s Proclamation ending the world as promised at the end of the war.

Assets

The empire has two great wonders, the winter cannal, a cannal system through north west obia that both cuts weeks of travel time to the rest of northern obia and Hurnix as well as avoids the section of sea that can feeze during a bad winter.   The second is the Empress Mavi Bridge that was completed in 619 ASC. Origionally meant to be a way to safely and quickly get across the Frostfire Strait to bolster the war effort, the bridge wasn't yet completed by Rainor’s’ s Proclamation. There was calls to simply abandon the project but by then it was already 90% finished so the order was given to continue. This garganiuan bridge now connects Obia to Otusi and named after Empress Mavi who ruled the empire from 526 to 553, grandmother of current Emperor His Imperial Majesty Malik Tahage.

History

The empire was once the just the kingdom of Northguard up until -145 BSC lead by Erixdon Tahage. Under his rule and according to his journal with inspiration from Arirna, Goddess of Conquest, Weaponry and War, would start to capture or destroy the nearby kingdoms of Ferroririver, kenhill, Beachlingstead all the way down to Eaglecliff and the surrounding islands but never managing to defeat the northern kingdom of Coldhold, (later known as the Free Kingdom of Coldhold )   The empire would wage a bloody war destroying any city or country that failed to come under its rule. In 11 ASC, the last kindom of Bredwick would fall after a 2 month seige. Due to its size and proximity to the Obia continent and the Frostfire Straite, Breadwick-by-Sea would be renamed after its first Emperor and become the new Capital City, Erixdon.   After waging an unsuccessful campaign against Coldhold, the empire turned its attention towards Obia and its mostly elven and non human kingdoms, a campaign that would last more than 500 years but only being recognised as a war 40 years ago.
