The Black Road is the only east-west trade route that runs through the great Sea of Hell desert of Hellspont. As part of Yrdahn its known as a trading community where you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. Visitors must be cautious.
The White Barrens was rumored to once, long before the elves left for the Fey Isle, be a thriving port on a sea that has long since dried up, serving as the gateway to the First Dwarven Empire. Here, humans, dwarves, and elves conducted trade with the nations of the day.
Now it is sand-swept ruins with mighty stone docks thrust proudly into the advancing desert. The empty hulks of colossal stone ships lie half-covered in the desert beyond, the remnants of the lost dwarven navy.
From the north, an ancient road leads to the cliffs above. Here, a pair of gigantic stone griffon statues crouches, grimly guarding the dark, yawning entrance to the place, a door in a hill that leads down into the rock before exiting into the ruins at the base of the cliff.
