The Thunder Rift

Bounded on all sides by the mile high Cliffs forming an inland promontory to the north, west and south and coastal peninsula buttressing against The Platisian Sea to the east, a land with few paths, and one caravan trail providing exits to other lands, Rhelac has long remained a world unto itself.
Within this large natural expansive valley can be found most of the common types of temperate lands from rocky hills and sweeping grasslands to wide rivers and deep lakes to the occasional mountain and mighty forests interspersed with mysterious murky swamps and inhospitable barrens. Beyond the Rift itself are leagues upon leagues of impassible mountains, gorges and worse. If one is to travel along the coast between The Heartlands and The Commonwealth or Caledon, the only way to do so is by passing through the lands of The Thunder Rift.
Little has changed in The Rift since The Godswar. For nearly five hundred years the people of Rhelac have gone about their business in relative peace, cut off and hidden from the events of the world. All except for the lineage of Rhelac, the first of his name, Thunderer of The Rift. It is his castle that stands above The Thunder Rift where the Caravan Route meets the Overland Road leading to the lands of Afilam and Rhigolia. It's greatest noble, The Thunderer, is said to be an immortal boy who proved himself worthy of all the challenges set before him by the gods to rule Rhelac. The future of the Rift is in his hands and rumors persist that after hearing a prophecy from a traveling oracle that he has chosen to set about seizing a great new destiny.
Rhelac waits with baited breath to see if this bodes well or ill for their future.
