Carona Borealis

The Northern Crown "City of Light" Ruler: High Lady Arianrhod Economy: Forestry, support services for popular schools of music, higher learning, and magic. Militia: The gallant, heroic defenders known as “The Knights of Light” (so-called in a ballad penned by the bard Will Knott). They number over 500. Points of interest: Caer Arianrhod, Arken’s Invocatorium, The Golden Oak Inn & Temple to Shiallia, Lady’s College, Vault of the Sages, Helmer’s Wall, Miresk’s School of thaumaturgy, Utrumm’s Music Conservatory, Mielikki’s Glade, Fortune Hall, Halls of Inspiration, House Invincible, Tower of Balance, Silverglen, Temple of Silver Stars   Carona Borealis, common for The Northern Crown and nicknamed "The City of Light" is the largest inland city of Ethigoviel, strong and bustling with activity. Folk of all good races dwell here in a harmony that is attributed to the High Lady’s kindness, grace and diplomacy. It is not uncommon to find elves, yes real elves, discussing things magical with dwarves while perusing scrolls in the Vault of Sages, the town library near Caer Arianrhod "The Castle of the Silver Circle", High Lady Arianhod's Palatial home. Most of the city proper lies on the north bank of the River Roving. Construction in the last century has spread out on the southern shore from the base of the Archbridge across the river. The bridge's central arch thins so much it appears to reduce to near nothingness and this section can be retracted to allow tall-masted ships to pass, or give unaware attackers a spill into the river. Much of the city’s activity centers around higher learning, including the magical arts. Some say it echoes the spirit of Freehold to act as a place where elves, dwarves, and men work together to bring knowledge —and the arts to a peak of perfection never achieved elsewhere.
