To Give Power to the Explorers and Researchers

In Depthopolis the passing of any day seems almost as normal as any other, so too does its weather, these things come normally on almost any other body that Depthopolis mimics.
But these are not natural processes, no, for it is by only artificial means that such things are produced in Depthopolis. You'd be hard pressed to find anything in Depthopolis that didn't have some sort of intentional thought put behind it, but that doesn't mean there aren't any at all, they're just, a little deeper, under the iceberg.

The Exploricae et Philosophae Imperātis or E.P.I. for short, is the largest and one of the only organisations that investigate and research the Depthopolis Ecosystem (Flora, Fauna, and the etc.). From the Plumate Structures, Nauticloids, and Sandworms to the Drangent, Jaghoppers, and The Slums District Abominations, the EPI take consideration for research on almost any known wildlife throughout Depthopolis.

Public Agenda

EPI is the largest organisation in Depthopolis that specializes in species that are considered wildlife (feral). This includes most active wildlife lifeforms. Their goal has been simple since the start, to produce awareness and bring publicity to Depthopolis's unique and growing effects on its invasive wildlife.

History

Their importance to Depthopolis in the present day comes from the First Invasion from The United Empire, which brought unregulated wildlife into the heart of Depthopolis, and consumed much of Cardica's land-based infrastructure. This was a major blow for Depthopolis as a whole and could've well been the end of the dimension in its entirety. Though, during the growing expansion of what would become The Slums District, a small faction from the Depthopolis key research department broke off and conducted several expeditions into the growing concrete jungle. Many lives were lost as they diligently observed much of the life that adapted and mutated withing the rubble, but ultimately, they came back and established a way of halting the spread of the pre-Slums in an effective manner, later gaining the policies and acts that would declare this faction as an official separate division of the Depthopolis key research department (Name and idea WIP), recognized as the EPI.

Assets

Many of the EPI's research departments are situated in and above the broad region of Cardica, with many dedicated facilities for specific districts and their ecosystems. A good example of this is the Flourish and Flight greenhouses on the Algalic Island above Le Artorica. Inside Flourish and Flight greenhouses, many species of lush organic flora and exotic flight adapted fauna are raised and observed for careful study. A good many of the Flourish and Flight facilities have experimental wildlife that are adapted to quickly cross Depthopolis's wide expanse. A good many other facilities exist in other reaches of Depthopolis as well, with many more that are more likened to research and exploration, especially along The Slums border.
