The falling newspaper

The falling newspaper is the biggest newspaper in the falling city, being sold in all parts of the city and in multiple languages. The newspaper aims to keep people updated on what the council is deciding on for the city, which districts are at risk of collapsing and in need of evacuation, and anything else the people might want to know about. The newspaper started as a way for newcomers to the city to get information about how to live life in the newly formed city and which rules apply but has since evolved into much more of a traditional newspaper. Aside from the translations into different languages, the falling newspaper also has local newspapers for all major countries within the falling city, written by reporters living there. The falling newspaper is the only newspaper that has access to the inner city and the council, meaning they have a monopoly informing about the decisions made therein. This is a very useful tool for councilmembers who want to be reelected where they can spread the decisions they make that benefit their voters, and the promises they're keeping, but its a double-edged sword that has lead to more than one councilmember being voted out for the decisions and negotiations that didn't go as their voters wanted it to. There are of course certain decisions that the newspaper isn't allowed to take part in the outcome, but that doesn't mean its reporters aren't trying to anyways. Sometimes they've succeeded and dragged some very sketchy decisions to the surface. This has more than once leas to almost the entire council being voted out and a period of very tense politics until the people's trust is regained. The falling newspaper is a must-read for anyone wanting to keep track of the goings-on in the city.
