The falling city

The falling city, or as it was known before, Esvani, is a large city and a former capital. It was famous for its dense industry, something that came very handy when it stood as the last city not fallen into the abyss.

History

Esvani was the capital of a nation. The symbol of progression and power. The symbol of hope for the people. It didn't matter how many conflicts or wars were going on in the world, Esvani was always painted as a sanctuary where life always kept on as normal. This wasn't true of course, but thanks to its technological advancements and strong guard it did come out of most conflicts fairly whole. The big factories served the nations, producing weapons, vehicles and anything else needed in military campaigns.

After the collapse

When the world started falling, many turned to the great Esvani. Everyone knew of the city's reputation, and if any place could stand in a time like this it had to be the city. Millions of people tried to get into the city, which quickly had to close its gates. That didn't stop more people from coming, camping outside and making the biggest slums the world had yet seen. It was of course blind luck that Esvani was in the middle of the world, and didn't fall. Many of the camps outside the walls weren't lucky, but since the falling seems to have slowed down the city has recovered and manages to support the much bigger population and be stable.

Layout

With the number of people now living in the comparably small city, a lot of temporary homes have been built in the streets. All parks have either been turned to housing or farms. Some buildings also have a new level to them, but the strong winds only allow for sturdy buildings of which not all have the materials.
