Maurice Miller

Maurice Miller is a very popular figure in the fallen city. Even after his death, his name is widely known both inside his own religion and outside of it thanks to all the charity work he's done. Maurice triggered a change of view within most religions within the falling city. Where in the old world religions were placing the most weight on trying to appease their various gods in a worship largely unrelated to their everyday life, Maurice realized the same way of thinking didn't work in the city. People rarely had time to do their rituals, and when they did it wasn't always they could do them properly due to limited materials and funds. As an answer to this, Maurice started thinking of how he could perform rituals and worship in his everyday life. His new ideas took a slow start, as people are rather unwilling to change the way things have always been done, especially when it comes to something as heavy with tradition as religion. But soon enough people started to understand that this was a way to practice their religion without having to sacrifice their steadily more valuable time and resources in the same way as before. Maurice got most of his recognition, however, from the large amount of charity work he did, supporting people from all walks of life when times got tougher and helping them in whatever way he could. He organized a lot of charity work with his local church, which became a meeting place for people to share and care for each other, but also took a lot of initiatives to help out in his private life. He was very well-liked within his community, and his actions have served as an example for many people after him.
