Fredrik Bergh

When you think of the second most influential family in the falling city, you don't think of Fredrik Bergh. A mere servant of the third son in the family, he's not given a second glance by most. Yet that's part of what makes him able to pull the strings so well. When the third son of the family, George, was born Fredrik got assigned to him as his personal servant. Fredrik gives the appearance of a loyal servant, but in reality, he uses his position of trust to George to act as an advisor to the young man. Playing off of feelings of inadequacy being the third in line for the family's legacy, George is more than happy to follow the advice Fredrik gives him, gaining support from many of the family's allies and leading his brothers astray. Even though he's the third in line, George is now one of the biggest players in the politics of the falling city, and many speculate that when his parents pass he's the one who's going to continue the family name. Just like Fredrik wants. Getting into the political scene is near impossible in the falling city if you're not born into it, with all the previous worlds politics condensed into a single city, but with the help of George as his marionette, Fredrik has managed to be one of the most influential people in the whole city behind the scenes. The only one who knows of Fredriks games is George's mother, who sees the constant suggestions and hints George receives from Fredrik under the guise of serving him. She's never taken any action trying to expose him, however, but instead encourages her other sons to take up the fight for her, using the advantage of knowing who's really making the decisions to further her own goals.
