Bal'Shul
Once an Ithaqui god of campfires said to ward away the Whisperers, Bal'Shul has evolved over the ages, becoming a primary fixture of Eldrian mythology during Age of Raining Arrows. Over the ages, the Eyes of Bal'Shul came to be guardians of the Eldriad cities, building great towers to look down over the throngs of Men in the streets below. Affixing great mirrors to these towers, the Eyes of Bal'Shul would cast light and judgement into the dark recesses of the city, tying criminals to the great mirror which they used to redirect the light of the sun. Eventually the order became so obsessed with the 'judgement fire' that even the lowest of criminals were condemned to immolation in it. In time, the Eldriads implemented their own courts and governments and the Eye was outlawed.
Various sects of Bal'Shul have seen a renewal in numbers over the past centuries, maintaining the mirrors of the old towers and turning the Eye out into the encroaching corruption of the wilds.
Eyes of Bal'Shul must patrol a perimeter around their place of rest, looking for evidence of corruption and emanations. Such reports are kept by Eyes and then sent back to their orders for later investigation.
It isn't uncommon for the Eyes to ritually remove and replace parts of their body such as teeth and eyes with jewels and other 'pure' substances, seeking to escape the corruption that the Shroud brings.
