Ard is a Gorn who is said to have sired all other living dwarves, and a direct ancestor of the Low King. He is clever and cunning deity whose artifice and craft are beyond reproach. In a bygone age, it is said that Ard was ordered to construct a prison which could contain a powerful god. After completing this prison, the other gods imprisoned Ard in a high tower so that he could not reveal the secrets of the prison.
It is said that Ard used the skin and bone and tendons of his own legs to build a set of wings which he used to escape the prison.
