Goblinoids

It is a common misconception that Goblins, Hobgoblins and Bugbears are three separate races. They are in fact one race each at a different stage of their metamorphic lifespan. Goblinoids start life as the stereotypical green or grey skinned 2-4 foot jittering and jabbering nuisances we all love to hate. This is their adolescent stage, where speed and instinct are highly important in their survival on their eat or be eaten sphere Zomothea. This youthful stage lasts until “Goblin” reaches metamorphic Maturity around the age of 35.
At this point a “Goblin” undergoes a painful week long growth spurt at the end of which they emerge with reddish grey skin and are now nearly 6 foot tall. Now truly into their adult years a newly formed “Hobgoblin” seeks out greater purpose in life, no longer content to simply raid or fill their bellies. Many join militaristic companies or seek out a philosophical teacher to help fill out their newly opened minds. A “Hobgoblin” will grow in size and experience for another 40-50 years until a new longing begins to take hold of them. The desire to enjoy the fruits of their hard work and to mentor new generations arises in them, building until a final metamorphic change is brought on. This last metamorphosis slows down their metabolic processes and causes a “Hobgoblin” to grow an additional foot or two as well as to bulk out greatly in every dimension until they resemble a hairy hulking beast almost yeti like in appearance.
A “Bugbear” has almost no patience for the antics of “Goblins” and grow tired of the stiff attitudes of the “Hobgoblins”. Soon enough they begin to make greater and greater demands until either their followers grow tired of them or they grow tired of their followers.
On their home sphere Zomothea “Goblinoids” are constantly at war with each other, Goblin clans ambushing each other and Hobgoblin battalion conduct orderly skirmishes while the Bugbear leadership grows tired with the inevitability of it all. When Aethership travel was brought to Zomothea there was an explosion of Goblinoids in the Etherium, as many of the “Goblins” found piracy to their liking, “Hobgoblins” found that many influential individuals were willing to part with gold for the services of a competent mercenary company, and the “Bugbears” saw that with the Etherium at their fingertips, much wealth and entertainment could be found.
These days if you see a Goblin Pirate ship you either prepare a tribute or get ready to defend yourselves. Hobgoblins can be found in a variety of places mostly as hired guards or as contracted mercenaries. Bugbears are often found running gangs and mafias, preferring to delegate their desires while they enjoy living in the lapse of luxury.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Heaven knows what a "Goblin" finds attractive, by the rate they breed it seems they aren't all that picky.
Most "Hobgoblins" don't care for relationships beyond the comradeship of their fellow warriors. Occasionally a warrior will make themselves "worthy" in a Hobgoblin's eyes and a very business like proposition may be made.
"Bugbears" have a almost lazy slovenly approach to romance, preferring to either purchase their "fun" or use their influence to gain it through other means. Rarely a Bugbear will find themselves in a loyal monagamos relationship with a strong influential individual. These power couples are a force to be reckoned with, their collective "empire" far more dangerous than the common gangs.
