Changelings
Due to their Amorphous ability to alter their physiology to mimic many of the other sentient races of the Etherium, the Changelings have always faced hardship and turmoil where ever they try to call home. In addition the fact that they seemingly have always been scattered across the Etherium and are lacking a singular Sphere as a species to call home, Changelings unfortunately lack a culture of any real personal substance.
Rather they integrate into whatever society they find themselves in. This makes them highly adaptable able to flourish in almost any environment. Most Changelings only know of a few other of their people most often their own families. Ever since the Dopple Hunts of the early 1400’s Changelings have experienced ostracisation and racism across most of the known Etherium often hiding among the races, never revealing their true nature for fear of the ignorant and intolerant.
There is much less of a stigma against Changelings in the Fayen Collective, due to the fact that the more magically inclined races know that there is always more to reality than the naked eye can see and that these things are not inherently to be feared.
Naming Traditions
Unisex names
Changelings take names that suit the culture and race of the personas they are simulating. A Changeling may be known by many different personas over a lifetime.
Family names
Changelings possess no personal family names beyond those that they appropriate from the cultures they hide among.
Other names
Changelings have a Hidden name, a Touchstone personality that usually is a amalgamation of many of the personas they have inhabited and view as a true representation of these aspects of themselves. This Hidden name is usually a base conceptual word that conveys what the Changeling truly seeks to be.
