Anore
Geography
There isn't much known about the planet under the thick clouds, however, it's known there are many mountain ranges along with vast oceans of liquid methane. There have been a few adventures below the cloud line into the suffocating depths of Anore, so the entire planet hasn't been mapped as of yet but there are plans in the works to send more scientific groups down from each city to map the surface.
Ecosystem
Below the clouds, it's a greenhouse gas runaway effect, thick heavy and dance air. Nothing, that is known, is able to live down there. However, above the clouds, millions of people are able to live. The ecosystem booming with plants that grow around the connections of the buildings and the within small terrarium-type rooms within the cities. Many organisms thrive in the atmosphere that's above the clouds as it holds the building blocks of life, in order to sustain thriving flora and fauna. Flying from one city to the next you're bound to pass packs of dragons and sky animals.
Ecosystem Cycles
There are seasons based on the strength of the winds. During Gentle, the winds are quiet and mostly still as they are moving away from their star the gravity and magnetic field don't get jostled about keeping the planet soft during this season. However, Pick is when the winds start to become stronger though they are not at damaging speeds yet and are safe to travel in. Howling is when the winds become violent, it's strongly suggested that no one travelled during this time. During this period of time, most cities will hunker down and go into a quiet period of travel and external socialising. Each season lasts around 2-3 months.
Every 4 years, when the planet comes closest to the star, it will have another season which is referred to as the Dark. Winds will create storms that become planet engulfing, hundreds of people are killed during this season and there are many policies in place to make sure that things are safe when building that if a building was to come to lose it would not damage more of the pod it's come from or the city.
Localized Phenomena
The migration of the dragons. An event that takes place once a year prior to the Howling, where the dragons will migrate from the East to the South to avoid the horrifying season of storms and winds.
Climate
Long-term the climate is breezy and warm. Prone to windstorms due to seasons there is a 2-3 month variety of weather shifting but overall there is always a tiny fresh breeze. Storms can become planet-wide, however, these happen rarely.
Fauna & Flora
Fauna
Dragons are the main species of this plant, while humanity outweighs the dragons in population they don’t overrule. When the planet first fostered life, dragons could live on the surface however as the atmosphere got worse it was harder to survive on land. Taking to the skies for long periods was exhausting, and hundreds of dragons died. Found and rescued by their female saviour, dragons could find rest above the clouds and regain population and strength to thrive. Insects and microbial life still exist on the planet both below and above the cloud layer, less is known of those below the layer. Most insects live within greener cities or pods, there is research being done to learn more about them and their histories.Natural Resources
Winds keep this planet bearable, aside from the horrific cloud layer, there are necessities to the wind. Making sure there is greenery, alongside solid food for humans and dragons, is key and something that has been developed to serve as a natural resource.
History
It took billions of years for life to start on this planet. First starting with microbial life under the cloud layer, followed by the evolution of dragons. Who then rose above the cloud layer, only going under in order to lay eggs. A woman found this dying species of dragons on her hunt for new and different life forms. It wasn't long before she decided to take on the mission of rebuilding the planet in order to support the dragons and other species from going extinct.
Over time this meant that civilization was born, which led to the four floating cities. They were made in support of dragon conservation. After a couple of million years, dragons were safe from the immediate threat of their home planet's death, and humanity was in harmony with them.
Tourism
Visitors are usually those interested in one of two things; dragon conservation or living a diverse yet quaint life. Depending on the city the migrant towards upon arrival to Anore may help state their interest in the planet. Are they of a scientific mind? Do they practice religion while also respecting others? Is there something quiet and green about their persona?
