Banumg Cartholin

Hunt Master Banumg Riste Cartholin

The Hunt Master for the Grand Discovery. He was a fairly smart man who had learned a lot about geography, history and had studied Froggarth's many indicies of foreign, exotic, interdimensional and ungodly creatures. Banumg was a very well read man who had written a collection of books based on his many adventures. He was the first man to see all of the Witchwood - an endeavor he did that left the first incarnation of The Grand bloodied, battered and beaten nearly to a pulp.    Banumg was a good man and a great leader. The only time he had ever led his men astray was his first and most fatal mistake, which also tripled as his last. He started the Grand with his bestfriends Leland and Congard, after they had fought together in the Weston Royal Navy  There is very few locations across Awhurg that Banumg hadn't yet seen. He's been all over the place, sailing and marching and seeking out treasure.    Shaving Sucks: This NPC is very bad at shaving. If it’s a man, he has a lot of small cuts on his face. With a successful DC8 perception or insight check it’s pretty clear that they are the result of terrible shaving. If the NPC is a woman, it is almost the same, but instead the cuts are located on her legs (Yes, even in D&D some women shave their legs. Trust me!).

Personal history

Banumg was born in the big city to two unloving parents. They had left him at the steps of what they thought was a church, but was actually the charmed library of Froggarth the Wise. Froggarth had taught Banumg as if he was his own child, and thought that he was destined to be a wizard.    Not showing much magical prowress, Banumg did prove to be quite the herbalist. The most magic he could perform were a few cantripsand was capable of using magic items and weapons. He was naturally skilled with swords of all kinds. Froggarth had sent Banumg to train among monster slayers, where he had decided that he enjoyed explosives, short swords and crossbows. While he was away training, Banumg kept in constant contact with Froggarth via mailing parchment to each other.    Before returning to the library, Banumg had gone on an expedition to explore a viscious mountain chain. Here, he discovered his love of sailing. He had returned to Froggarth for two years before signing up for the Weston Royal Navy. In his ten years abroad, he befriended two sailors named Leland and Congard, whom he had enjoyed various different adventures and battles with.    Upon introducin his new friends to Froggarth, the wise wizard told them that they should form an official adventuring party, and thus began the Grand Discovery. They did a few local hunts before purchasing a ship and setting sail for undiscovered lands where they had met their recruits.
