Parable Station

Parable Station (or just Parable) is an orbital platform built within the gravity well of HMP 1339, a Mining Planet on the outskirts of the Cauldron. A sprawling metropolis within the shadow of the Dyson Sphere that blots out its sun, Parable has become the de facto trading hub between the Dog's Head and the rest of the galaxy at large. As such, it has attracted trading companies of all races and creeds, as well as sprawling crime networks that feed on the scraps that those companies drop -- and on occasion, those organizations are one and the same.   While Parable Station and its forces are at a post-Silence tech level (4), the civilians that live within it often make due with more primitive tech (3). As an outskirt planet in the Cauldron, Parable hasn't received much in the ways of support outside of tariffs and importing fees from the Galactic Council, despite technically being owned by them. This has created a rich smuggler's underworld and it has become an unofficial haven for those wanting to lay low or a transit station for those wanting to disappear entirely from their sector.   Even as an intergalactic hub, with its close proximity to the Dog's Head, the station is still predominantly Human. Even so, the sight of other races -- both the major players in the galaxy and the rarer races -- is not uncommon. Even the Assembly has multiple agents operating within the Megacity, trading information between rivals.   Whether you are working for the city, a dockhand, someone just passing through, or one of the many gang members that run the streets, this is where you find yourself. This is where the story starts.
