The Contingency
The world isn't ready for disclosure. As a species, we still haven't learned to stop fighting with each other. We still haven't learned to care for one another. Human beings are a violent and ignorant species. Worse so, we are willfully violent and ignorant. If we tell people the truth about what really goes bump in the night, there would be riots worldwide. Mass murders and suicides. Fundamental and extreme changes to religion and culture. The fabric of an already failing society would begin to unravel even more.
That's why we have to keep it all a secret. We are the unknown soldiers in the dark. We are the scientists risking their lives for answers.
