Purpose / Function
The various structures of the Federal Circle serve many purposes. Some are headquarters for government agencies and departments, and others are residences for certain officials. Federal Circle also includes the parliament building (named the People's Chambers) and the Executive Spire, a skyscraper that serves a purpose similar to the White House in our world.
Architecture
The architecture of the Federal Circle varies by building, as many were built during different time periods. The Peoples' Chambers and the High Court were constructed during the time of the Kingdom of Eldureia, and appear significantly more antiquated than newer structures such as the Executive Spire or the NCASL division headquarters. These buildings are all oriented around a large roundabout with a landmark fountain in the centre.
History
Prior to the year 2451, the Federal Circle was walled-off from the rest of the city, and access was restricted to most outside of special occasions. In 2451, the construction project that connected the Federal Circle to the rest of the city's roads and transportation infrastructure concluded, and the Federal Circle became open to the general public.
Tourism
Since the 2450s, the general public has been able to access the Federal Circle, and tours are offered of several locations, such as the Executive Spire, the High Court, and the Peoples' Chambers. Additionally, citizens can schedule visits and meetings with the offices of their members of Parliament. Parnassus Station has connections to many of the city's major train lines and makes access convenient.
