Republic Multimedia Corporation
The Republic Multimedia Corporation (or RMC) began its life as the Royal Broadcasting Company in 1951-- a government-run news organisation and television/radio station in the Kingdom of Eldureia. The RBC maintained its position as one of the most prominent media organisations in the world well into the late 21st century when the Eldureian monarchy collapsed. Following the end of the war of succession and the establishment of the Emberleaf Republic, the Royal Broadcasting Company was reorganised as a semi-private corporation (ownership was split between stockholders and the federal government 50-50). This new Republic Multimedia Corporation remained as such until the 2380s, when it was fully privatized. Currently, the RMC owns two film studios, a distribution company, two companies that own a series of "television networks". (this term is used loosely as television is still used as a blanket term for online broadcasts that share the programming format), a streaming platform, and a series of radio stations.
The RMC's programming is distributed in eight countries and translated into 12 languages.
