Dwarf

Averaging 4’-5’ in height, the ‘Small Folk’ prefer to be called ‘Durian's Folk’, after their mythical ancestor. They are extremely resilient, often bearded, physically powerful, and quick-minded. Dwarves have traditionally lived underground and the mining community of Caraid is the cultural center of dwarven life (although, numerically, more dwarves live in Southport). Dwarven culture typically values clan affiliations, miners and workers of metal, the brewing of strong ales and spirits, and mistrusts magic. Dwarves live to be about 150 years old, on average. In the centuries since The Misplacing, the few mountain dwarves on this side of The Triangles have become increasingly suspicious of the more numerous hill dwarf communities.
