Durian

Durian the Ripe is an ancient dwarven folk hero. Said to have lived more than 2000 years in the past, Durian is understood to have stolen the knowledge necessary for underground forging and agriculture from Blattops by hiding in a crate of rotten fruit set to be delivered to the god's workshop. It is said that Blattops was so impresesd with Durian that they granted the dwarves innate knowledge of industry as a boon.

Many dwarves refer to themselves as 'Durian's Folk' in Common. The word 'dwarves' is derived from the proper name 'Durian'.
