Doobi Desert

The Doobi Desert is one of the largest continuous desertic plains of the planet of Khannh. It has been characterised as having a very dry climate, high traces of salts and amiates, and a characteristically high content in Canolina, which gives its sands a terracota-like reddish tone.   The Desert is mostly located along the Equator and above of it, covering around a fifth of it on its east-west axis. A majority of it is, however, located on the northern hemisphere, south of the northern tropics of the planet, where cold and humid southbound winds from the Northern Ocean turn the incoming arid particles into larger clumps of material, which tend to settle as part of the characteristic boreal sediments found in the northern regions of the planet.   Its geography and dune structure has been studied to change quickly due to winds and pressure changes, but unlike most other deserts, the Dobbi dunes have been hypothised to change periodically, creating patters observable through long period of time.   Its internal strata composition has been studied throughly by historians to determine possible ancient civilizations or life forms in the planet, mostly gone now except for a handful of exceptions like the Plumberries; sweet watery palm-sized fruits with sweet and savory flavour and high content on vitamins and water which can be found inches from the surface across the entire dune sea.   The desert has also been found to be rich in terms of material content, as numerous expeditions have found traces of radioactive particles throughout its surface between 70 and 80 meters below its "base surface" -a name given to the slightly more humid and stable strata found directly beneath the dunes-.

Places of interest

The most notable places of interest include the Dune Temple of Doobi, which remains as the only structure to be found in the entirety of the desert, and is theorized to have been built at least four millenia ago.
