The Veridian Council

The Veridian Council is a collective of 8 representatives from the highest noble families in Rath, where each member oversees a different section of governing. They all collectively run the Voltaire Academy, and have the final say on the highest level of judicial matters and lawmaking. The members of the Council are as follows-
Hest Vormunclud- is the head of the Veridian Council. Bogged down by various other members straining to and fro, he spends the majority of his days working to maintain unity and cohesion. He has a vested interest in the Voltaire Academy and its happenings.
Malara Fentus- the next most influential member of the council, Malara is an extraordinarily driven social manipulator who primarily deals with foreign relations from other countries and city-states. Malara seeks to establish Rath as a universally revered center of progress.
Ethryn Telvani- Reserved and world-weary, Ethryn is in charge of the shipping, exports, imports, and manufacturing of Rath. She often has to deal with the corporations who answer to her. She finds this to be burdensome and often vanishes to do who-knows-what, much to the Council's chagrin.
Eskell Broge- Brash, self-centered, and easily manipulated, Eskell is the councilman most invested in trade and commerce. He is involved in varying degrees of corruption, whether it be money laundering, importing illegal spirits, or price gouging. Eskell often butts heads with Ethryn.
Sage Silsia- Sage is a member of the council dedicated to maintaining infrastructure and public relations. Her heart is with the people of Rath, although her aloof and somewhat frivolous demeanor is often the center of gossip.
Ixala Lemilon- The member of the council who is dedicated to maintaining peace. The Peacekeepers are run by the council, but Ixala is the most invested in its governance and enforcement of the law. Ixala is an incredibly sardonic and foul-tempered man who despises those within the Lower City.
Tobias Qune- The Councilman that oversees Judicial happenings. He runs the lower courts autonomously, and any case that is brought to the council must first be vetted by him. A solitary, peaceful man, he wishes most for balance and harmony within the two disparate halves of Rath.
Demous Vandanske- A solemn man who is in charge of researching dangerous magic and destroying it wherever possible, he is the Council member that manages the Arcane Licensing Agency, which is the governing body that provides magical licenses to those that are worthy of possessing one.
