The City of Metal

"Only the strong, deserve equality amongst their peers."
"While our bodies may feel the weight of the Gravity Well, our hearts remain united."
Honorguards

Culture

Bearing hazardous mountains and an environment where the gravity makes it almost inhabitable, only a select few may live within the land.   Those who bear the Goliath heritage boast the strength and the resilience to reside in such regions. It is rare for other ancestries to meet the same standards. Those that do, are accepted as equals amongst their Goliath peers.   Many of these inhabitants reside within metallic houses created by advanced metallurgy. However, this metallurgy is a result of the region's influence known as the Gravity Well.   Through its influence, it leads to the creation of valuable minerals, metals, and naturally alloyed metals. Many of which are used as building materials, weapons, and tools that can only be created within this specific part of Nexus in the world.   Their agriculture is low as seedlings and small critters are unable to thrive within this region, lest they be crushed by the land itself. Instead, much of their food comes from the ocean and underground farms. Many of their foods are preserved and a bit tasteless, but can last for many months as a result.

People of Myriad

Goliaths

Boasting great physical and mental strength, they are able to overcome the weight of the Gravity Well. They are a race that populates the majority of the region. Boasting great physical and mental strength, they are able to overcome the weight of the Gravity Well. They are known for their stoic personalities and resolute, unwavering ways.   While they believe that intelligence is subpar when contrasted with strength, they will not refute those that bear it. An intellectual mind is only accepted via a creature that boasts equal strength. If one does not bear the proper physique, they're ridiculed as a result.   Occasionally, they will host contests to display their feats of strength in the games known as the Olympics. Those that prove themselves worthy are known to be respected by their peers, and often are a part of the Honorguards.

Honorguards

Residing within the bottom of the region, the Honorguards are composed of only the strongest of Goliaths, and even other races that have proven themselves worthy to join. They are known for their conviction in a proper duel on suitable terms for both competing parties. Their goal is to fight powerful individuals, integrate other powerful creatures into their society, and improve themselves.   The Honorguards enjoy their feats of Olympic competition, as it is a well-celebrated tradition of their people.   To sully their competitive nature by underhanded methods is an affront to them. Their refusal to abuse or utilize methods makes them a worthy opponent, and a well-trusted ally.   Even on occasion, they will refuse to combat societies with a weakened state. Instead, they choose to forcefully integrate them into their society so that they may do their part for the greater good of all.

Armslas

A recent discovery in the past hundreds of years, the Armsla have always roamed the lands of Nexus with no memory prior to their awakening. As the majority remain in Myriad, they have integrated themselves into their society. Respected by the Goliaths, they are seen as equals to them despite their rugged metallic appearances.   They are governed by their own respective organization known as the ____.

History

Long ago, the region of Myriad was occupied by various vermins and monsters that repelled civilizations interested in inhabiting it. The land would be consumed by vermins such as Molerats that would scrape the region dry of resources, rendering it almost infertile. Throughout the Nexus Wars, Myriad would be occupied by various cultures and races. Eventually, the encampment would fall into the hands of the Goliaths.   Through their efforts and massive fortifications, they were able to establish themselves in the land and refute all who dare attempt to annex them. As a result, they are the sole rulers of the region and have been so for many generations. Today, the land is occupied by the Caldera Regency , after many years of "peaceful" military subjugation and integration, the land remains united, more cohesive, and stronger than ever.

The Gravity Well

Deep within the region, past the outer tectonic plates of Iberia is a phenomenon known as the Gravity Well. This phenomenon encompasses the western region of Nexus. It is known to constantly shift the gravity to an unbearable degree to which life becomes difficult for most creatures.   As a result, many are unable to reside in these lands. Those that attempt to do so in an alternative manner, do so via magical or physical enhancements. This can be from the magical equipment such as Magical Tattoos, and even feats of science to allow them to resist the weight of the Gravity Well.

Government

Despite being almost equal to a monarchy, The Great King Marcard has been known to state that his position is merely temporary and that this is a Regency.   Wishing to unite Nexus under the creed of the Goliaths culture, he has declared that upon the unification, his regency shall end, and the people will be given the power to decide their own fates.
